My Approach to Plastic Surgery

My Approach

We are convinced that good results are based on honesty, daily search for doing things better and achieving excellence without forgetting human treatment and professionalism.

Surgical techniques are becoming more sophisticated and the results are better in all aspects: faster healing, less evident scars, less painful postoperative period and earlier return to daily life and work. Therefore, we always work in the same direction and are at the forefront of modern medicine and surgery.

It is essential that the expectations before the intervention are real and objective. That is why a precise surgical procedure is so important. as a personalized and clear attention in consultation ; where the patient makes the decision to undergo surgery after a real knowledge of his case and a reflective process that should be individual and calm.

We dissociate ourselves from today’s increasingly widespread practices, in which the patient’s decision process is conditioned by pressure from commercials, uncomfortable persistent calls, tempting offers and other marketing tools.

In our office you will find an elegant and discreet environment, where something as important and intimate as your health, a complex or aesthetic concern, is treated with the rigor, seriousness and professionalism required.

First Consultation

Good results begin to develop on the first visit.

The objective of this visit is for the surgeon to obtain a thorough knowledge of the patient through a ‘Clinical History’ that details the reason for the consultation, the patient’s wishes and expectations, his or her personal history, as well as a physical examination that will give us the keys to what may be the best option for the patient. With all this information we elaborate a diagnosis and propose the most appropriate treatment.

The patient should leave the consultation with an idea of what their particular case is, of the procedure we propose, knowing their possible limitations and the real expectations they should have, the pros and cons of the proposed treatment and the possible alternatives. We also explain the possible complications that your surgery may have through the explanation and delivery of the ‘Informed Consent’.

We will request the pertinent preoperative study.

But you will leave the consultation and end up having doubts, so we advise the patient to visit us at least two more times before an intervention until everything is clear.

In the successive visits prior to the surgery, we will review with the patient what has been previously discussed, we will solve any doubts and we will insist on the explanation of the informed consent.

We will check the requested tests since the patient must be in optimal health for cosmetic surgery.

Tests Requested

-Analytical with Biochemistry, Hemogram and Hemostasis.

-E.C.G. (Electrocardiogram)

Depending on the case, we may need other tests such as chest X-rays, mammograms, etc.

-In some cases it may be necessary to consult with another specialist before giving the green light to an intervention.

Surgical Facilities

We perform all surgical interventions in hospitals, seeking excellence in health care and safety in any type of surgical intervention.

In most of the interventions we perform such as breast augmentation, rhinoplasty, abdominoplasty, etc., we recommend hospitalization for at least one night, not only for post-anesthesia recovery, but also for the patient to spend the first night with controlled analgesia and with all the measures of care and comfort necessary not only for their welfare but also for the tranquility and comfort of his family.

Spending one night in the hospital allows us the next day to check the general condition and the state of the operated area before being discharged, and until the next visit already in consultation.

The patient goes home with a brief report of the procedure, the treatment guidelines and Dr. Pedro Antolin’s contact telephone number for any questions or problems that may arise.

You also leave with the appointment for the first check-up already in our office.

In Valencia……Hospital 9 de Octubre

In Alcoi………..San Jorge Sanatorium Hospital

Postoperative follow-up

Once you are discharged from the hospital we will follow your evolution in our office, during the first month we will see you very frequently 1-2 times a week, to perform the necessary cures, removal of stitches and explain all the guidelines for recovery and incorporation to your usual life.

After the first month, we will meet at 2 months, 6 months and 1 year to control and take pictures. Although the consultation will always be open for any doubt or problem that you may have to ask us.

We believe that patients should also be followed up in the long term, to control prosthetic implants, status of scars, evolution of the operated area over the years, weight changes, possible pregnancies, etc; only then we can assess the degree of patient satisfaction over time, identify concerns, evaluate the quality of our treatments and resolve any questions that may arise.
